Storm & Fury - audiobook

Review:

Audience: Young Adult

Format: Audiobook/Library

"Just a kiss?"

- first sentence

Trinity lives in a community of Wardens (gargoyles who fight demons and can transform into human form). Trinity isn't a warden, but she isn't just a human either. She is one of a kind - a true born. Misha is Trinity's protector, and if she dies, he will also die. Trinity's mom was killed by a warden and since then, she has lived under the protection of the wardens.

This book reminded me of the Court of Thorns & Roses series. It had the same feel. I enjoyed the book, but I didn't realize it was part of a larger universe (The Dark Elements series). There was danger, magical creatures, good vs. evil, treachery, death, betrayal, and of course, hormonal teenagers. Overall it was just ok for me.

Thinner - audiobook

Review:

Audience: Adult

Format: Audiobook/Owned

"Thinner," the old Gypsy man with the rotting nose whispers to William Halleck as Halleck and his wife, Heidi, come out of the courthouse.

- first sentence

I've been listening to Stephen King books on audio recently. All of them have been re-reads and I enjoy revisiting his older material. This book has always been just ok for me. Joe Mantegna does a fabulous job performing all the characters and the story flew by. I plan to watch the movie again for a comparison.
